Bioplastic Skin is a biodegradable packaging for meat made out of the skin of the animal itself.

Our aim is to reduce the use of plastic in the food industry, in particular the meat industry. We need to look no further than the skin of the animal itself. By boiling the skin, it releases collagen, and a gelatinous material forms. Once dry it has a texture similar to plastic.

There is a certain poetry to putting an animal back into its skin, once it’s been slaughtered and butchered. This should not come across as unsavoury or repellent in any way, on the contrary we hope that people can appreciate the poetic nature of wrapping meat this way.
